Additional Information
Captain Samuel Blish died on March 29, 1896 at his home at Raritan Landing in Piscataway Township at 3:30 in the afternoon. He was 76 years old. He leaves one son, John Arthur Blish, an architect with an office at 86 Church St. in New Brunswick. Mr. Blish was a captain for many years and had charge of some of the sailing vessels under Robert Merritt. He was also a prominent member of the Middlesex County Board of Agriculture. He has raised several prize crops on his farm. He was a man of very strong character, bright intellect, and public spirit. His death will be a great loss.
