Additional Information

From the 1st Compiler's work, JKB 1905:

Leveret Cornelius Blush at the first call for men in 1861, enlisted in the Cleveland Light Artillery. When his first three months were out he re-enlisted for three years. He was in general Sherman's corps, and was taken prisoner at Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was confined in Libby prison for nine months, but finally escaped, floating down the river on a log, and reaching general Grant's command. From there he returned to his command at Chattanooga, Tennesee, and went with Sherman to the sea. He came out of the war without the loss of a limb but his hair all came out while he was in Libby prison (this indicates severe malnutrition - 3rd Compiler's note, CBB) After coming out of the army he took up railroading, first as a fireman and in 1870 got an engine, and has kept in the same business ever since. Is on the northern division of the Cotton Belt Railroad. He is a fine musician, and all of his children are musical, Maud being especially fine.
