Additional Information
Born as Elisabeth Blish. When baptized (at the
age of 11 or 12), added Dorothea, to honor paternal grandmother, at the
beginning of this name.
Brought to Milford, PA, at the age of 2, where she lived until age
15 or 16.
Published a mimeographed newsletter called the "Major-Minor"
during her high school years.
Received a B.A. in French Literature from Colgate University
in January, 1977. Worked at various companies in the Boston
area as a technical writer/editor.
On her marriage to Chris Hind, each added a last name,
keeping their unmarried last names as their middle names: they are now
Elisabeth Blish Genly and Chris Hind Genly.
Decided to change careers, and got an M.S.N. in Maternal Child
Nursing/Nurse-Midwifery from Yale University in May, 1985.
Had been working as a nurse-midwife until 1996, when her health got
stressed.
Beth and family now reside in Western Oregon.
